We’ve setup “Google Analytics” on our site, which gives us a variety of reports. One of the more interesting ones is the “Traffic Sources” report, which tells you where your visitors came from. This is very useful in marketing, as it lets you know which of your marketing plans generates results. For example, yesterday we put the message out about this new site on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Of those, we can now see which generated the most response (Facebook and Twitter are tied; LinkedIn generated nothing as of this writing).
Another stat it shows you is which search engines have indexed your site. If you rely on search engine results to generate business, knowing this can be very helpful.
